Volunteer With Burkhart Cemetery
This page is under construction currently, if you have any questions please email at admin@burkhartcemetery.org
Burkhart Cemetery is a fully volunteer‑run, nonprofit historic cemetery. Every hour donated helps preserve our grounds, honor our veterans, and protect the legacy of those laid to rest here.
Your time — whether once a month or during special projects — makes a meaningful difference.
Why Volunteers Matter
We are 100% volunteer and unpaid
Volunteers help maintain safe, respectful grounds
Your service supports preservation, history, and community connection
Using the Point App to Track Volunteer Time
Burkhart Cemetery uses the Point volunteer app to record and verify volunteer service hours. Point is a free, easy‑to‑use tool that allows volunteers to log their time, track completed tasks, and stay connected with community service opportunities.
Volunteers can use Point to:
Log time spent on cemetery cleanup or maintenance
Record Point Volunteer Service tasks
Track progress toward personal or community service goals
Receive updates about upcoming volunteer days
Verify hours for schools, clubs, or service organizations
Point does not provide monetary rewards or compensation. It is simply a way to recognize volunteer contributions and maintain accurate records for nonprofit reporting and community transparency.
To get started, download the Point App on your mobile device and search for Burkhart Cemetery under volunteer opportunities. Once connected, you can begin logging your service hours immediately.
Volunteer Positions
Burkhart Cemetery offers several volunteer roles for individuals, families, and community groups who want to help preserve and care for the cemetery. Volunteers may serve in one or more positions, and all service hours can be logged through the Point App for accurate tracking and recognition.
Volunteer Forms
Burkhart Cemetery provides several important forms to ensure safe, organized, and transparent volunteer participation. These forms help protect volunteers, safeguard family privacy, and support accurate nonprofit recordkeeping.
Volunteer Liability Waiver Acknowledges the natural risks of outdoor work, uneven terrain, weather conditions, and physical activity. Volunteers confirm they participate at their own risk and agree to follow all safety guidelines while on cemetery property.
Confidentiality Agreement Ensures volunteers respect the privacy of families and burial records. Volunteers agree not to share personal, historical, or sensitive information encountered during service.
Minor Volunteer Permission & Waiver Required for volunteers under age 18. A parent or guardian must provide consent and acknowledge the same safety and liability terms.
Photo & Media Release (Optional) Allows the cemetery to use volunteer photos for community updates, historical documentation, or nonprofit reporting. Signing is optional and not required to volunteer.
Volunteer Interest Form Collects contact information, availability, and preferred volunteer roles. Helps the Board coordinate tasks and communicate upcoming opportunities.
Completed forms may be submitted electronically or in person during volunteer events.
